Case Study - Unique Identification (UID)/Aadhar.
Aim: To furnish each Indian citizen with a unique 16 digit ID number that allow access to services across platforms.
Technology: The platform is an open Application Programming Interface (API) that allows entrepreneurs to build software applications around it.
Impact: Using UID cards the Government will be able to authenticate citizens and deliver services online, and via mobile phones.
Lessons Learnt : The success of the UID shows that countries with large populations can indeed get high-quality data in a cost-effective, inclusive way using multiple biometrics.
